Kindly be informed that the Credit Card Service Tax shall take effect on 1 January 2010 as follows:
i. RM50 per annum on each principal card; and
ii. RM25 per annum on each supplementary card.
The service tax shall be imposed on any new credit card issued from 1 January onwards, and shall be automatically charged upfront upon card issuance. Any service tax charged shall be non-refundable.
As for existing Credit Card, the service tax will be charged on the anniversary of card issuance. For example, if your credit card was issued in May 2009, the service tax will be debited in your June 2010 card account statement.
