Notice on Confirmed COVID-19

KUALA LUMPUR – Public Bank Berhad (“PBB”) confirms that two (2) of its employees from IT & Training Centre, Bangi and Bangunan Public Bank (Level 15), W.P. Kuala Lumpur have tested positive for COVID-19 during the period of 08 February 2021 to 21 February 2021.

Deep cleaning and sanitization activities have been carried out in all the affected floors and common areas. The sanitization procedures are in accordance with Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) guidelines.

As an added precaution, employees who had come into close contact with the affected employees had been placed on home-quarantine and arrangement had been made for affected staff to undergo screening at Bank’s appointed hospital/screening centre. Rest assured that we have taken all necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers, employees and the community.

Revision of T&C Governing Deposit Accounts

REVISION OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS

With effect from 26 February 2021, the Terms and Conditions Governing Deposit Accounts will be revised as follows:-

  • To incorporate the increase in the default daily Retail Purchase limit and the Contactless cumulative transaction limit for PB Lifestyle Debit Cards.
  • To be in line with the requirements of the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Qard Policy Document

The relevant revised clauses have been incorporated into the following Terms and Conditions Governing Deposit Accounts, where applicable:-

KUALA LUMPUR – Public Bank Berhad (“PBB”) confirms that there are six (6) additional COVID-19 confirmed cases reported during the period 28 January 2021 to 2 February 2021 involving staff based at Menara Public Bank (Level 8 and 20), Setapak HP Centre, Overseas Union Garden Branch (2 staff), in W.P. Kuala Lumpur and Tampoi Branch, in Johor.

Deep cleaning and sanitization activities have been carried out in all the affected floors and common areas. The sanitization procedures are in accordance with Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) guidelines.

KUALA LUMPUR – Public Bank Berhad (“PBB”) confirms that four (4) of its employees, based at IT & Training Centre at Bangi, and Menara Public Bank 2 have been tested positive on 13 January 2021, 14 January 2021 and 16 January 2021.

Deep cleaning and sanitization activities have been carried out in all the affected floors and common areas. The sanitization procedures are in accordance with Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) guidelines.

As an added precaution, employees who had come into close contact with the affected employees had been placed on home-quarantine and arrangement had been made for affected staff to undergo screening at Bank’s appointed private hospital/screening centre. Effective 29 December 2020, open fund transfers at PB engage (capped at RM5,000 per day) and DuitNow QR limit (capped at RM1,000 per day) will be uplifted and merged together with PBe Internet Banking 3rd Party Transfer Limit.

You may now transfer up to RM20,000 (for PAC) and RM 50,000 (for SecureSign) per day at both PBe Internet Banking and PB engage.

Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank are participating financial institutions of the Targeted Relief and Recovery Facility (TRRF) to provide relief and support the recovery of eligible Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the services sector that are adversely affected by the reintroduction of containment measures since June 2020.

Salient features of the TRRF

  • Loan / Financing up to RM500,000 per SME under category of Small or Medium and RM75,000 per SME under category of Micro
  • Moratorium period of 6 months
  • Financing rate of 3.5% fixed per annum

Notice on Confirmed Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR – Public Bank Berhad (“PBB”) confirms that one of its employees from Public Bank – Kota Damansara Branch, in Selangor has tested positive for COVID-19 on 12 October 2020. The said employee had not reported to work since 7 October 2020.

The affected branch has been temporarily closed from 12 October 2020, and deep cleaning and sanitization activities have been carried out in accordance with Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia guidelines. As an added precaution, employees who had come into close contact with the affected employee had been placed on home-quarantine. Rest assured that we have taken all necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers, employees and the community.

LHDNM : e-Stamp Duty Service

Dear Valued Customers,

The Bank has launched the Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDNM) e-Stamp Duty Service via PBe and PB enterprise’s Bill Payment.

Customers can make stamp duty payment to LHDNM by key in the Adjudication Number provided by LHDNM as the payment reference.

How to perform e-Stamp Duty payment:

  1. Retail Customer
    1. Logon to the online banking
    2. Select “Bill Payment”
    3. Select “Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (STAMP)” then click “Next”
    4. Choose your “From Account” and enter the “Adjudication Number”
    5. Click “Request PAC Now” and enter the PAC number
    6. Click “Confirm” to complete the transaction

  2. Corporate Customer (Maker)
    1. Logon to the online banking
    2. Select “Bill Payment”
    3. Select “Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (STAMP)” then click “Next”
    4. Choose your “From Account” and enter the “Adjudication Number”
    5. Click “Submit”
     

    Corporate Customer (Authorizer)

    1. Logon to the online banking
    2. Click “Pending Approval”
    3. Select the transaction(s) that need to authorize and click “Approve”
    4. Enter the “SecureSign Code”
    5. Click “Confirm” to complete the transaction

Please register with STAMPS before proceed with the Stamp Duty payment via PBe and PB enterprise.

CRS and FATCA

Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)

Dear Valued Customer,

Following the implementation of FATCA and CRS in Malaysia, the Bank is required to collect self-certification with a valid foreign Tax Identification Number (TIN) from the following pre-existing account holders with foreign status(es) i.e.:

  1. Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act Implemented since 1 July 2014
    A U.S. Person or a Malaysian with U.S. Permanent Resident status whose depository account was opened before 1 July 2014.
  2. Common Reporting Standard Implemented since 1 July 2017
    A Foreigner (other than U.S.) or a Malaysian with Non-U.S. foreign tax residency(ies) status whose depository account was opened before 1 July 2017.

If you are an individual described above, please visit your account-holding branch’s customer service counter to declare your foreign TIN by executing the account opening cum self-certification form (AOSF).

Even if you had furnished the Bank with the valid foreign TIN prior to this announcement, if you have any update on the foreign status(es), please feel free to declare by executing the above AOSF.

Sekiranya anda seorang individu yang dinyatakan di atas, sila pergi ke kaunter perkhidmatan pelanggan cawangan pemegang akaun anda untuk memaklumkan Nombor Pengenalan Cukai asing anda dengan melengkapkan borang pembukaan akaun yang juga borang pengenalan diri (AOSF).

Effective 28th August 2020, Telekom Malaysia (TM) will change the Biller Code Name for Biller Code 8888 from TM Unifi Home to TM Unifi.

Kindly refer to the JomPAY Biller Code as printed on your latest TM Bill before making payment.

Important Notes:

  1. Customers who have set the bill as their Favourite, please ensure that you remove the bill to avoid any transaction failure.
  2. You may update/ register your TM bill as Favourite by using the latest JomPAY Biller Code Name.

PENJANA Tourism Financing Scheme

Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank are participating financial institutions of RM1.0 billion PENJANA Tourism Financing (PTF) Scheme to support viable Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in tourism sector, by preserving their capacity as well as assisting them to undertake the necessary investment to adjust and remain viable post-COVID-19.

Salient features of the PTF:

  • Loan / Financing up to RM300,000 per SME
  • Financing rate of 3.5% fixed per annum
  • Moratorium period of 12 months
  • Business in operation for a minimum of 2 years
  • Recipients of Special Relief Facility's (SRF) and PENJANA SME Financing's (PSF) are not eligible

  1. Akaun deposit yang dibayar di luar Malaysia;
  2. Akaun deposit yang dipegang oleh institusi kewangan yang menjalankan perniagaan perbankan di Labuan atau perniagaan perbankan Islam di Labuan;
  3. Akaun deposit yang dipegang oleh bukan Ahli Pengambil Deposit PIDM;
  4. Akaun bukan deposit (misalnya unit amanah, akaun perdagangan sekuriti, dsbnya.); atau
  5. Akaun deposit tidak berinsurans (misalnya Akaun Pelaburan Emas, Instrumen Deposit Boleh Niaga Runcit, dsbnya.).

  5. Not insured deposit account (e.g. Gold Investment Account, Retail Negotiable Instruments of Deposit, etc.).

Please note that for money withdrawn from your insured deposit to purchase or transfer to a new Takaful or Insurance product, kindly contact PIDM to obtain further information relating to Takaful and Insurance Benefit Protection System (TIPS). Measures To Assist Credit Card Customers Affected By COVID-19

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bank Negara Malaysia had on 24 March 2020 announced additional measures to assist borrowers/customers affected. We sincerely hope this will provide some relief to our customers who are facing financial adversities to cope with challenges during this period.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR CREDIT CARD OUTSTANDING BALANCE
1. Credit card balances conversion

  1. Your statement balance at the point of conversion can be converted into term loan of not more than three (3) years at an effective interest rate of 13% per annum. Please apply here.

    OR
     
  2. If you have not been meeting the minimum monthly repayment on your credit card consecutively for the last 3 months (not more than 90 days), the Bank will AUTOMATICALLY convert the outstanding balance into a term loan/financing of three (3) years at an effective interest rate of 13% per annum. This is applicable to all income level of the cardholders. The automatic conversion will only be done once.

2. Credit cardholders who have already converted their card balances into a term loan/financing can request for 6 months loan/financing deferment. Loan/financing repayment will resume after the deferment period. To apply, please contact PB Card Services Hunting Line: 03 - 2176 8222.

3. The outstanding balance converted into a term loan/financing is treated as part of your credit card limit. You can continue to use the remaining credit limit of your credit card.

4. The monthly installment of your new term loan/financing will form part of your minimum monthly repayment amount on the credit card.

5. There will no impact to your CCRIS record.
