Dear Valued Customers,
In effort to provide a more user friendly and efficient experience for customers performing FPX transactions on web browser and mobile devices, the Bank will be enhancing the FPX login page effective 6 October 2023.
The new design depicts a clean, minimalist design and responsive to your device dimension. Click here to view the changes.
Your FPX transaction experience will not be affected in any way and you can proceed to login with your User ID as per normal. Please don’t forget to confirm your Personal Login Phrase (PLP) before entering your password.

Dear Valued Customer,
With effect from 21 September 2023, the Gold Investment Account (GIA) Agreement will be revised to incorporate the following updates:
- Customers are to ensure the transactions performed through their GIA do not contravene any applicable laws and regulations.
- Clauses under ‘Liability’ on the Bank’s responsibilities and liabilities.
- Clauses under ‘Force Majeure’ provisions on the Bank’s liability in the event the Bank is unable to perform its obligations under the Agreement due to any reason beyond the Bank’s control.
- New individual customers opening GIA will be granted with e-Banking Service, subject to the conditions imposed by the Bank.
The revised GIA Agreement will be made available from 21 September 2023 onwards.

GRANTING OF e-BANKING SERVICE TO NEW INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMERS OPENING DEPOSITS ACCOUNT

Please be informed that with effect from 21 September 2023:
- New individual customers opening deposits account will be granted with e-Banking Service, subject to the conditions imposed by the Bank.
- The Terms and Conditions Governing Deposit Accounts will be revised as follows:
- To incorporate a clause on the e-Banking Service as per item 1; and
- To rename the term “PBe Service” as “e-Banking Service”.
The revised Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank Terms and Conditions will be made available in the Bank’s website from 21 September 2023 onwards.

Transaction Cooling-Off Period via PBe & PB engage
Dear Valued Customer,
As part of our ongoing effort to enhance security measures and protect our customers’ financial transactions, we will be introducing a transaction cooling-off period for transfers which are deemed abnormal with effect from 22 June 2023.
What is a Transaction Cooling-Off Period?
The transaction cooling off period is a precautionary measure that allows us to review and assess certain transactions that display characteristics of abnormal behavior. This additional step is designed to minimize the risk of unauthorized transactions and potential fraudulent activities, to ensure the safety of your funds.
How does it work?
Any transfer via PBe or PB engage that is flagged as abnormal during our routine monitoring process is subjected to a mandatory cooling-off period. If necessary, you will be contacted to perform transaction verification to ensure the legitimacy of the transfer and protect your financial interests.
How would I know if the caller who perform the verification is legitimate?
Verification calls will be made via our official telephone number which is +603-21766000. We will not be requesting sensitive information such as your User ID, Password, SMS PAC, SecurePAC or SecurePIN, and will not request you to perform any activity on your PB engage or PB SecureSign. Revision of T&C for Deposit Accounts
REVISION OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS
With effect from 1 June 2023, the Terms and Conditions Governing Deposit Accounts will be revised to incorporate the following updates:
- Amended the details of Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) clause under ‘Any money withdrawn from the insured deposit is no longer protected by PIDM’ for clarity. [Reference: PIDM Guidelines on Provision of Information on Deposit Insurance].
- Amended the clause under ‘Statements’ on the Bank’s entitlement to charge interest on any overdrawn amount, due to the Bank’s reversal of any credit item erroneously credited to the account. [Applicable for Terms and Conditions Governing Current Account only].
- Additional clause under ‘Liability’ and ‘Force Majeure’ provisions on the Bank’s liability if not due to the Bank’s gross negligence or willful default or in the event the Bank is unable to perform its obligations due to any reason beyond the Bank’s control.

From 1 January 2023 onwards, “Bill Number” will be used as a mandatory reference for the payment of all types of direct taxes except for Potongan Cukai Bulanan (PCB) and Stamp Duty.
However, during the transition period to the use of “Bill Number”, taxpayers can still use their existing Tax Reference Number (i.e. SG, OG, C etc.) for making direct tax payment via PBeBank and PB enterprise until 30 June 2023.

Revision of T&C for Deposit Accounts
Revision of Terms and Conditions Governing Deposit Accounts
With effect from 1 November 2022, the Terms and Conditions Governing Deposit Accounts will be revised to incorporate the following additional/revised requirements:
- The trustee(s) for Trust Accounts are to submit the required information and documents to the Bank when requested by the Bank. [Reference: Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation(Disclosure Requirement for Trust Accounts and Joint Accounts) (Amendment) Regulations 2022.]
- The Account Holder(s) shall ensure compliance with the Public Bank Group Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC) Policy and shall not engage in any acts of bribery or corruption. The Bank has the right to terminate the products and/or services provided to the account holder(s), should there be a breach of the ABAC Policy.
- For Joint Accounts, the joint account holders agree to indemnify the Bank as a result of release of the outstanding balance in the account to the surviving account holder(s), in the event of the demise of one of the account holders.
The additional/revised clauses will be incorporated into the following Terms and Conditions Governing Deposit Accounts, where applicable:

Pursuant to our earlier announcement on 15 September 2022, the exercise to upgrade the Internet Share Trading (IST) platform in browsers i.e. Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox, has been completed. Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank are participating financial institutions of the Disaster Relief Facility (DRF) 2022 to alleviate the financial burden of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) affected by the recent flood nationwide and facilitate the resumption of business operations.
Salient features of the DRF 2022:
- Open to SMEs affected by floods located in districts identified by Agensi Pengurusan Bencana Negara (NADMA) as flood disaster areas
- Loan / Financing up to RM700,000 per SME under category of Small or Medium and RM150,000 per SME under category of Micro
- Tenure of up to 7 years, including a moratorium period of 6 month
- Financing rate of 3.5% fixed per annum

Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank are participating financial institutions of PENJANA Tourism Financing (PTF) Scheme to support viable Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in tourism sector, by preserving their capacity as well as assisting them to undertake the necessary investment to adjust and remain viable post-COVID-19.
Salient features of the PTF:
- Eligible SMEs may obtain PTF for the purpose of capital expenditure, working capital and refinancing* of existing business financing
* Up to 50% of total financing approved
- Loan / Financing up to RM300,000 per SME
- Financing rate of 3.5% fixed per annum
- Moratorium period of 12 months
- Business in operation for a minimum of 2 years
- Recipients of Special Relief Facility's (SRF) and PENJANA SME Financing's (PSF) are now eligible for PTF

Targeted Relief and Recovery Facility
Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank are participating financial institutions of the Targeted Relief and Recovery Facility (TRRF) to provide relief and support the recovery of eligible Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that are adversely affected by the reintroduction of containment measures since June 2020.
Salient features of the TRRF:
- Eligible SMEs may obtain TRRF for the purpose of working capital and refinancing* of existing business financing
* Up to 30% of total financing approved
- Loan / Financing up to RM500,000 per SME under category of Small or Medium and RM75,000 per SME under category of Micro
- Moratorium period of 6 months
- Financing rate of 3.5% fixed per annum
- Recipients of Special Relief Facility (SRF) and PENJANA SME Financing (PSF) are eligible for TRRF subject to maximum financing limit per SME and total aggregate financing limit
- Recipients of PENJANA Tourism Financing (PTF) are not eligible for TRRF

CRS and FATCA
Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)
Dear Valued Customer,
Following the implementation of FATCA and CRS in Malaysia, the Bank is required to collect self-certification with a valid foreign Tax Identification Number (TIN) from the following pre-existing account holders with foreign status(es) i.e.:
- Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act Implemented since 1 July 2014
A U.S. Person or a Malaysian with U.S. Permanent Resident status whose depository account was opened before 1 July 2014.
- Common Reporting Standard Implemented since 1 July 2017
A Foreigner (other than U.S.) or a Malaysian with Non-U.S. foreign tax residency(ies) status whose depository account was opened before 1 July 2017.
If you are an individual described above, please visit your account-holding branch’s customer service counter to declare your foreign TIN by executing the account opening cum self-certification form (AOSF).
Even if you had furnished the Bank with the valid foreign TIN prior to this announcement, if you have any update on the foreign status(es), please feel free to declare by executing the above AOSF.

- Akaun deposit yang dibayar di luar Malaysia;
- Akaun deposit yang dipegang oleh institusi kewangan yang menjalankan perniagaan perbankan di Labuan atau perniagaan perbankan Islam di Labuan;
- Akaun deposit yang dipegang oleh bukan Ahli Pengambil Deposit PIDM;
- Akaun bukan deposit (misalnya unit amanah, akaun perdagangan sekuriti, dsbnya.); atau
- Akaun deposit tidak berinsurans (misalnya Akaun Pelaburan Emas, Instrumen Deposit Boleh Niaga Runcit, dsbnya.).
Dimaklumkan bahawa bagi wang yang dikeluarkan daripada deposit berinsurans anda untuk membeli atau dipindahkan ke dalam produk Takaful atau Insurans baharu, sila hubungi PIDM untuk mendapatkan maklumat lanjut berkaitan dengan Sistem Perlindungan Manfaat Takaful dan Insurans (TIPS). - Non-deposit account (e.g. unit trust, securities trading account, etc.); or
- Not insured deposit account (e.g. Gold Investment Account, Retail Negotiable Instruments of Deposit, etc.).
Please note that for money withdrawn from your insured deposit to purchase or transfer to a new Takaful or Insurance product, kindly contact PIDM to obtain further information relating to Takaful and Insurance Benefit Protection System (TIPS).
