- Ease of opening an account with an initial deposit of just RM20.
- Minimum balance to be maintained at any one time is RM20.
- Interest is calculated daily and credited half yearly as at 30 June and 31 December every year.
- Easy access to your account through any Public Bank branches, ATM and Public Bank Online / Mobile Banking services.
- Other FREE services offered:
- Cheques and cash deposits via deposit machines.
- Account enquiries and fund transfers within the Bank via ATM, Public Bank Online / Mobile Banking services.
- Bill payments via Public Bank Online / Mobile Banking services.
Basic Savings Account and Basic 55 Savings Account are protected by PIDM up to RM250,000 for each depositor.

Basic 55 Savings Account
- Malaysian citizens and permanent residents aged 55 years old and above.
- Personal Account
- For joint accounts, one (1) of the depositors must be aged 55 years old and above.

Option 1 – Waiver of annual fee for Debit Card
- Free 6 over-the-counter (OTC) visits per month.
- Free 8 ATM cash withdrawals per month.
Option 2 – Annual Fee of RM 8.00 for Debit Card
- Unlimited ATM cash withdrawals and OTC transactions.
Basic 55 Savings Account
- Aged 55 years old and above (for joint account, one of the depositors must be aged 55 years old and above).
- Free 16 over-the-counter visits per month.
- No Debit card will be issued under this account.
