What is Fund Lock?

Fund Lock is an anti-fraud security feature that allows you to lock a specific amount in your Current or Savings Account(s), protecting it from unauthorized transactions and potential scams. 

How do I access Fund Lock feature?

You may lock your funds, increase your locked amount and submit an unlock fund request via MyPB App and Online Banking. 

Which accounts are eligible to use Fund Lock?

Fund Lock feature is available for all Current and Savings Account, except:

  1. PB Sharelink Account
  2. PB Foreign Currency Current Account (PB FCY CA)
  3. PB Multi Foreign Currency  Current Account (PB MFCA)
What happens once my funds are locked?

Once locked, your funds will no longer be available for all debit transactions including, but not limited to:

  1. Fund Transfer
  2. Payment
  3. Investment
  4. Standing Instruction / e-Standing Instruction
  5. Direct Debit
  6. Cheque Clearing
  7. Cash Withdrawal or Transfer via self-service terminals.
Is there any amount requirement to Fund Lock?

You can lock a minimum amount of RM 1,000 and up to the total available balance in your account.

Can I increase my locked amount for the same account?

Yes. You may always increase funds to your locked amount at any time, without the need to unlock existing locked funds first.

Can I pay for my day-to-day needs with locked funds?

No. You are not able to use your locked funds until you unlock the funds by visiting the nearest Public Bank branch. Please ensure that you have sufficient available balance for your daily spending.

How do I unlock my funds?

Please visit your nearest Public Bank branch to unlock your funds.

Can I partially unlock my locked funds?

No, your locked funds can only be unlocked in the full amount. You may relock your funds via MyPB App and Online Banking. 

How do I unlock my funds if I am overseas?

If you are currently overseas and are unable to visit our branches, you may contact our Case Management team by emailing us at pbesecure@publicbank.com.my. You are required to provide the necessary documentation, such as a copy of your passport, for verification purposes. Our team will respond to you promptly to assist with the matter.

However, we strongly recommend planning your expenses in advance to ensure uninterrupted access to your funds while you’re overseas.

What are the operating hours for Fund Lock?

The Fund Lock service is available daily from 02:00AM to 11:59PM.

Why can’t I see my locked funds during 12:00AM to 01:59AM?

The Fund Lock service is not available from 12:00AM to 01:59AM. Your locked funds will be shown under ‘Locked and Hold Amount’ during this period.

When will my funds be locked after I submit the request?

Your request to lock funds will be effective immediately, and a notification will be sent to you to inform that your funds have been successfully locked.

When will my funds be unlocked after the verification process?

Your funds will be immediately returned to your available balance once your identity has been verified at the branch.
