What is the Cardless Withdrawal service?

Cardless Withdrawal is a new service available on MyPB App / PB engage MY that allows customers to initiate cash withdrawals from any ATM / CRM without a debit card.

Who can use this service?

All MyPB App / PB engage MY users who own a Public Bank Berhad (PBB) / Public Islamic Bank Berhad (PIBB) Savings or Current Account.

How secured is the Cardless Withdrawal service?

The Cardless Withdrawal service is secured with Two-Factor Authentication and additional security measures as follows: 

  • Login on MyPB App / PB engage MY
  • Authentication via PB SecureSign
  • A 7 digit Transaction Code (T-Code) will be generated via MyPB App / PB engage MY
  • A 6 digit Withdrawal Code (W-Code) will be generated via SMS
  • Daily transaction limit capping of RM1,000 per day, which is a subset of the daily third party fund transfer limit
Is there any service charge?

This service is provided free of charge.

What is ‘T-code’ and ‘W-code’?

‘T-code’ is the 7-digit code generated via MyPB App / PB engage MY.

‘W-code’ is the 6-digit code sent to the customer / recipient via SMS.

How do I obtain the ‘T-code’ and ‘W-code’ for a Cardless Withdrawal transaction?

MyPB App

  • Login to MyPB App and select ‘Cardless Withdrawal’ from the home screen
  • Select own or 3rd party withdrawal and select the amount that you wish to withdraw
  • Upon successful transaction authentication, the ‘T-code’ will be generated on MyPB App and the ‘W-code’ will be sent to the customer’s mobile number via SMS

 

PB engage MY

  • Login to PB engage MY with username and password and select ‘Cardless Withdrawal’ from the side menu
  • Select the ‘ATM Withdrawal’ service icon
  • Select own or 3rd party withdrawal and select the amount that you wish to withdraw
  • Upon successful transaction authentication, ‘T-code’ will be generated on PB engage MY and ‘W-code’ will be sent to customer’s mobile number via SMS

Note: For 3rd party withdrawals, you are required to forward the ‘T-code’ to the recipient. The ‘W-code’ will be sent to the recipient’s mobile number.

Can I use the codes to perform a withdrawal on the following day?

No, as the ‘T-code’ and ‘W-code’ is valid for from the time it is generated until 23:59:59 PM on the same day.

How do I perform a Cardless Withdrawal at the ATM / CRM?
  • Once at the ATM / CRM, select the ‘Cardless Withdrawal’ option
  • Select <Proceed> to accept the Cardless Withdrawal ‘Terms & Conditions’
  • Insert the 7 digit ‘T-code’ and press <Enter> Then, insert the 6 digit ‘W-code’ and press <Enter>
Can I withdraw from a non-Public Bank Berhad / Public Islamic Bank Berhad ATM / CRM?

No. All Cardless Withdrawals must be performed at a Public Bank Berhad / Public Islamic Bank Berhad ATM / CRM.

What is the daily Cardless Withdrawal transaction limit?

The daily Cardless Withdrawal transaction limit is RM1,000.

Can I perform a partial withdrawal?

Partial withdrawals are not permitted on MyPB App / PB engage MY.

What if I want to withdraw more than RM1,000 in one day?

Since the daily Cardless Withdrawal transaction limit is RM1,000, you will need to perform any additional withdrawals on the following day.

How many withdrawals I can make per day?

You can perform multiple withdrawals, however, there will be a daily transaction limit capping of RM1,000.

How would I know if the transaction is completed?

Upon successful withdrawal, you will receive a push notification. Furthermore, the transaction status can be viewed under ‘History’ on MyPB App or ‘Withdrawal History’ on PB engage MY.

If my card is lost or stolen, can I still use the Cardless Withdrawal service?

Yes, you can still use the service.  However, please report the lost / stolen card via PBe Online Banking immediately or by visiting the nearest branch.

What should I do if I want to cancel the Cardless Withdrawal request?

You can cancel the transaction if the status of the transaction initiated is under “Pending Withdrawal” in 3 steps:

MyPB App

  • Select ‘Cardless Withdrawal’ from the home screen and click on the “History’ icon
  • Select the pending transaction that you wish to cancel
  • Click on the ‘Cancel’ button to cancel the transaction

 

PB engage MY

  • Select ‘Cardless Withdrawal’ from side menu and select ‘Withdrawal History’ icon
  • Select the pending transaction you wish to cancel
  • Click on the ‘Bin’ icon to cancel the transaction
I have performed a Cardless Withdrawal at ATM / CRM and the amount was deducted from my account, but no cash was dispensed at the ATM / CRM. What should I do?
  • If this occurred during banking hours, notify the bank staff of the branch immediately
  • If this occurred during non-banking hours, you can make a report by contacting our Customer Support Team at 03-2170 8000 (Option 3 > ATM, Debit Card & SST related matter) or email us at customerservice@publicbank.com.my with your transaction details (e.g. date, time and ATM / CRM location) for further investigation
I have noticed an unauthorised Cardless Withdrawal Transaction. What should I do?
