What is the Scan (QR) button for?

This feature is also known as DuitNow QR on PB engage. This feature is facilitated by PayNet (i.e. DuitNow QR, RPP Cross Border QR) which allows you to make and receive payments using a quick-response (QR) code to participating banks and e-wallet mobile apps.

On MyPB App, you can now select credit cards as a source of fund to make payments to merchants. However, this is only applicable to those merchants who accept payments via credit card.

How many types of QR-based payments are there?

You can perform the following types of QR-based payments:

  1. P2P Transfer (Peer to Peer Transfer)
    • Transfer funds to your friends and family in Malaysia
    • Receive funds from your friends and family in Malaysia
  2. Merchant Payment/ Cross-border Payment
    • Make payments to local merchants
    • Make payments to overseas merchants (Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore)

 

 

Why can’t I access/ use the Scan function?

Please ensure that you have a strong internet connection. To access this feature, you are required to:

  • Have an active PBe profile and link the PBe profile to MyPB App
  • Activate PB SecureSign on MyPB App
  • Have a valid an active current/ savings account or credit card to perform transactions
How can I check my transaction status?

Upon completion of the transaction, you will be displayed with an acknowledgement screen whereby your transaction status will be shown. Alternatively, you can view your transaction history from your respective account.

What is the FOREX rate of DuitNow QR cross border?

FOREX rate will be shown as you input the foreign currency amount. You may view the exchange rate at the confirmation screen.

What are the daily payment limits of DuitNow QR Cross Border?

The DuitNow QR limit falls under the third-party transfer limit that has an aggregate total of RM 50,000.00 per day or customer’s reduced limit, whichever is lower. However, DuitNow QR Cross Border Payment has a lower limit as follows:

  • Up to RM 3,000.00 per transaction
  • Up to RM 10,000.00 per day
